Guest Choice shopping starts May 11!

Starting May 11, the Saluda Pop-Up Pantry will be open every Tuesday from 1:00—6:00 pm and will include Guest Choice shopping options. “After months of having to keep our doors closed to shoppers and friends, we are excited to have a re-opening date!” exclaimed Diane Land, Operating Committee Chair.

“We look forward to having shoppers being able to tailor food items and selections at the Pantry to their dietary likes and needs,” she continued. “Because we will allow only four shoppers indoors at a time, we extended our hours so there would not be a long wait time to shop.”

Health and safety guidelines require all shoppers and volunteers to wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and have their temperature taken before entering. Each shopper will be able to select from a large assortment of meat, fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods and other non-perishables. Pre-packed boxes will also be available for pick up for those not wanting to shop.

In other news, the Board of the Pop-Up Pantry has adopted a three-year strategic plan which adds the following committees: Wellness, Communications, and Farm to Neighbor (sourcing fresh produce from local farms). If you would like to work on these committees, please contact us at saludapantry@gmail.com for more information. To learn more about our strategic plan, please click below:

The Pop-Up Pantry has weathered the pandemic thanks to the strong support of our volunteers, churches, local businesses, and donors. We are very grateful for your support and we look forward to exploring the new opportunities that lie ahead as we join together as Friends Sharing with Friends.
